Our story
Forty years ago, Kyr-Nikos opened a small kafeneio on the corner of Themistokli Sofouli. Today, that same shop is called Koronis, kept alive by 5 friends from the neighbourhood.

Kyr-Nikos's kafeneio
The shop opened as a simple neighbourhood kafeneio, with a few tables on the pavement and an owner who knew every customer by name. The old telephone booth on the corner still recalls that era.

Five friends take over
In 2022, five friends who grew up in the neighbourhood decided not to let the kafeneio close. They rebuilt it dish by dish, keeping Kyr-Nikos's spirit alive with a modern take on the kitchen.

The four on Sofouli
The number 4 on the facade is more than an address. It's been the neighbourhood's meeting point for decades, a rendezvous passed down through generations.

The kitchen today
We keep the recipes we learned from our grandmothers, but we work with fresh, local ingredients and a charcoal grill. The menu changes with the season, the table stays full.
"We wanted a place where you could sit alone with a coffee in the morning, or with ten friends at night, and feel just as at home."
Live music every Wednesday
Every Wednesday night, the table grows with laiko and rebetiko songs. We recommend booking ahead, seats fill up early.
